What are project milestones and why are they needed?

Top

Milestones are an effective way to set project expectations and these are set while awarding a project contract. Milestones can be used to break the project into small and meaningful pieces (e.g. the First milestone can be "Requirements Analysis", the second can be "Design" and the third can be "Development"). Milestones help track project progress and also help make payments in accordance with deliverables.

Can project milestones be modified?

Top

Projects are dynamic in nature and requirements often change over time.

  • If you are a service buyer, you can modify / add / remove milestones.
  • If you are a service provider, you can request for a change in any milestone to the service buyer through the Message Center. The service buyer can then evaluate your request and make changes as needed.

Is there any time-limit for canceling a posted project?

Top

Yes. Once bidding ends on a project, the buyer gets a 10-day grace period for awarding the project. If the buyer does not want to award the project for whatever reason, the project can be cancelled within the 10-day period.

Can a buyer repost a project that has been cancelled?

Top

Yes. A buyer can repost any project that has been cancelled within the 10-day grace period available after the completion of bidding.
