8KMiles offers flexible payment modes:

Both credit card and bank account information entered by the buyer will be processed securely via the 8KMiles verification process.

Once you are logged on to the portal, go to the Accounts page to add your credit card/bank account information.

When you enter the credit card for the first time, 8KMiles will charge 1 USD to your card. You need to look up the transaction in your credit card statement and enter the transaction reference number (please see example below) in the "Authorize credit card" page of the Accounts section.

Locate the reference number in your card statement

When you enter the bank account information for the first time, 8KMiles will charge US $1 in two transactions. You will have to check your credit card/bank account statement for these two transactions and enter the two amounts (Example: $0.52 and $0.48) in the Accounts page - Authorize credit card section. Please note that you have to enter the amounts in the order in which they were charged to your credit card/bank account.

Visit the Accounts page and click on View Transaction History to view the list of all your transactions carried out at 8KMiles.

8KMiles does not charge any subscription fee for buyers and providers. We get paid upon the successful completion of the project/project milestones. 8KMiles will deduct a service fee of 10% of the project value when the payment is made by the buyer to the provider.

If you subscribe and use the Virtual Computing Environment (VCE) for your project, you will be charged the infrastructure fee for the amount of VCE usage. This will be billed on a monthly basis.

As a buyer, you do not need to pay any additional taxes if you are purchasing services through 8KMiles' providers. US based providers can fill out W-9 forms and 1099s will be distributed at the end of the year. India based providers are responsible for reporting their earnings to the appropriate tax agencies.

That is totally up to you. Earning a good reputation, high ratings and nice endorsements in the network can help you achieve dramatic earnings. If you possess skills with high-demand, you will have the opportunity to work on more projects and hence make more money. This depends on factors such as skills, experience, subject matter expertise etc. You can find market rates for similar providers at 8KMiles. Pay rate also depends on factors like inflation, cost of living and exchange rate fluctuations.

You can submit timesheets on a weekly or biweekly basis based on the arrangement you have with the buyer. Based on the hours you have logged, you can send an invoice to the buyer through 8KMiles. The buyer will review the timesheet and the invoice and make the payment.

8KMiles protects the provider and the buyer through the 8KMiles Escrow account. This is how it works:

• Before starting work on the project, the provider can request the buyer to fund the Escrow account. The Escrow deposit can be made for the whole project or for each milestone or can also be a percentage of the total project value.
• The buyer deposits the requested amount into the Escrow account.
• The provider begins work on the job
• When the project deliverables have been met for a milestone, the provider requests the buyer to release the funded Escrow amount.
• If the employer is satisfied that the services have been provided in accordance with the job requirements, the buyer releases the amount. The milestone release results in the transfer of funds from the Escrow account to the provider.

The "Fund your account" feature lets you deposit money into your 8KMiles payment account via Check / Credit Card / Wire Transfer and use the money to pay for services on 8KMiles.

This is useful when:
- You would like to pay for services via Check / Wire Transfer from a Non-US Bank Account.
- You would like to transfer money in one chunk to your 8KMiles account and pay for services from your payment account, without going thro' the credit card / paypal / bank transfer processing cycle every time

The USD conversion rate prevailing on the date of deposit of funds (i.e. post processing your payment) into our bank account will be used to determine the amount (in USD) credited to your 8KMiles payment account.

Example:
You mail us a check for 20000 INR (Indian rupees) on Day 1. The INR-USD conversion rate is 45 INR / USD.
We receive your check on Day 3.
The check is cleared and funds are deposited into our account in Day 5. The INR-USD conversion rate on Day 5 is 43 INR / USD.
The amount credited to your 8KMiles Payment Account would be (20000 / 43) = 465.1 USD.

There are two withdrawal options on 8KMiles
- Automatic
- On request

Automatic
Automatic withdrawals ensure that payouts to your bank account are processed as they arrive from buyers. 8KMiles will automatically initiate the payment deposit process every time you receive payments from buyers for your services.

On request
This model allows you to request withdrawal to your bank account as you please. For example, if you received 3 payments of 100 USD each, you could choose to withdraw the entire amount (or a part of it) to your bank account whenever you'd like. This helps you track your withdrawals better.

The USD conversion rate prevailing on the date of deposit of funds (i.e. post processing your payment) into our bank account will be used to determine the amount (in USD) credited to your 8KMiles payment account.

Example:
You mail us a check for 20000 INR (Indian rupees) on Day 1. The INR-USD conversion rate is 45 INR / USD.
We receive your check on Day 3.
The check is cleared and funds are deposited into our account in Day 5. The INR-USD conversion rate on Day 5 is 43 INR / USD.

Simply check the option marked "Please credit payment via auto-disbursement" in your Setup Account screen

Go to the Setup Account screen.
You can see the funds available in your account
Expand the Withdraw Amount section (Click on the Plus sign) and type in any value equal to or lesser than the funds available in your account.
Click the Withdraw button

You need to set up an authenticated bank account to be able to withdraw payments from 8KMiles.

There is a page in the Setup Account section that lists your Withdrawal requests along with the status of each request.
